Have you ever listened to a podcast about travel? In this post, I’m sharing the surprising ways podcasts about travel can inspire you (and which ones you should be listening to). We all need a little inspiration from time to time, and travel podcasts are a fun and easy way to fuel your wanderlust.
Let’s have some real talk here. Life has lots of great moments, and there is so much to be thankful for…. people who care about us, a roof over our heads, a job that pays the bills, and on and on. But have you ever felt like, despite all the things you’re grateful for, you just feel like you’re in a rut?
I can really relate to this. Over the past year, I just felt like my inspiration was lacking. I found myself going through the motions and doing things the same way over and over and over. Not much variety, not much sparkle. I felt bored, I wanted a change, I wondered what I was missing…
Truthfully, I think it’s a normal part of life. But there are some things you can do to shake things up and re-energize yourself. For me, finding a few good podcasts to listen to have made a big difference! I like to tune in when I’m getting ready in the morning, and on my commute to work. It has TOTALLY changed things for me, and I feel so much more inspired in my everyday life. Podcasts are such a great source of inspiration.

Now I want to pass along to you what’s really made an impact for me. I’ve scoured the world of podcasts to find the best, most interesting, most energizing podcasts about travel. Curious? Here we go…
I’ve personally listened to each of these podcasts about travel, and they’re all great for different reasons. Here’s a little insight into what I look for in a podcast (and how these 10 made the list):
- It needs to be uplifting with a positive message
- I want to be entertained (but also learn something useful)
- Variety of topics covered
- Relatable!
Let’s Get Inspired
1. Flight of Fancy
Flight of Fancy is a podcast by Ben Groundwater, an Australian-based travel writer and blogger who’s visited over 60 countries. Not only does he have a great voice to listen to (love that accent!), he’s a travel expert. This podcast is humorous and lighthearted, and so enjoyable to listen to. Road trip tips, amazing destinations to visit, and where to find the best food are just a few of the things you’ll hear about on Flight of Fancy.
2. JUMP By Traveling Jackie
Jackie is a world traveler and nomad who’s lived abroad in multiple countries. What I love about the JUMP podcast is her honesty, sense of adventure, and emphasis on budget travel. This podcast has been named #2 Best Budget Blog by USA Today and is definitely a gem. She has fascinating topics like becoming fluent in a new language, epic bucket-list travel ideas, and off-the-beaten-path travel destinations to check into.
3. The Thoughtful Travel Podcast
If you’re looking for a serene and chill podcast about travel, this is the one for you. Amanda Kendle talks about why travel is important and what it can teach you. She’s been blogging at her blog Not A Ballerina since 2005 and has lots of insights to share. I love that she talks about things like transformative travel, solo traveling, and how to find volunteer opportunities when on the road. Try The Thoughtful Travel Podcast here.
4. Women Who Travel
If you love girl chat, you’ll definitely want to check out Women Who Travel, a podcast co-hosted by two female travel writers. They talk about a little bit of everything, including food, travel, hospitality, and adventure. This podcast definitely doesn’t get boring or monotonous. They often interview celebrities and authors and talk about how to incorporate travel into everyday life.
5. Zero To Travel
Zero to Travel is a really fun podcast about travel. The host Jason is engaging and caters to all travelers, from newbies to more experienced. Topics include inspiration, practical advice, and life-changing perspectives. I love the variety of this podcast! They feature lots of interviews with full-time travelers and people who’ve made the leap to quit their jobs to travel more.
6. The Globetrotter Lounge
If you’re looking for something geared towards women, The Globetrotter Lounge is a great podcast to listen to! She likes to feature women from all walks of life and their stories of travel and adventure.
7. The Offbeat Life
The Offbeat Life, hosted by Debbie Arcangeles, is an energetic podcast about travel that also has an emphasis on ditching your 9-5 job and finding your passion in life. Her bright personality makes this one fun to listen to, and there are lots of ideas and discussion about traveling and working and how to connect the two. Topics include things like being a digital nomad, starting a remote business, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
8. This Week In Travel
What makes This Week In Travel unique is the fact that’s it’s co-hosted by three travel-industry experts. Their podcast feels like a discussion among friends, and they talk about news, trends, and interesting things happening in the travel world. Topics include strange news, finding cheap flights, trip planning, and more!
9. 2 Girls Trippin’
2 Girls Trippin is probably the most quirky and playful podcast about travel on this list. Unfortunately, the podcast isn’t currently producing new episodes, but there are several older episodes to enjoy. It’s definitely worth a listen, in my opinion. They have several episodes around west coast travel, traveling with pets, and how to stay entertained on a long trip.
