Tips For Visiting Southern California
First, a tip that makes travel planning half the work (easier is better, am I right?) The weather in southern California is mild almost year-round. Meaning you can travel here at any time of the year, any season, and have a blast.
Awesome, right? The average high temperature is 65-75 degrees in San Diego and 67-80 degrees in Los Angeles YEAR ROUND. Check out this quick read for more info about when to travel to southern California.
Another plus: if you’re flying here, you have seven major airports to choose from. You have lots of options for traveling in and out of southern California.
In addition, both Las Vegas and Phoneix are only 5-6 hours away if you want to extend your trip or take a road trip. Hawaii and San Francisco are also super easy to access from southern California as well.
What To Expect
You might be surprised by how much variety there is in southern California…
It’s true, we have a beautiful, warm coastline to enjoy (and I highly recommend it). But it’s so much more than just the beach…
But did you know that southern California has several different climates? In a span of three hours, you can trade in your shorts and flip flops for a winter coat and snow beneath your feet.
Tons of snow and winter sports? Check
Sunshine, beaches, and whale watching? Check
A glamorous night out with fantastic rooftop views? Check
Authentic, phenomenal Mexican food? Yessss bring on the tacos

southern California’s largest factory store outlet malls) - Outlets at Orange in Orange, CA (near Disneyland)

9. Relax and Unwind
There’s more to southern California than just city life…
Located about halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego, Temecula is a beautiful getaway from the city. It’s considered the wine center of southern California and the beautiful countryside is dotted with vineyards. You’ll have no shortage of wineries and vineyards to explore!
If wine isn’t your thing, Temecula is also known for its hot air balloons. Get fantastic views of the rolling hills from above. Another fun thing to do in Temecula is step back in time by visiting Old Town. Filled with antique shops, restaurants, and a museum, you’ll get a taste of the old west and the history of the area.

Disneyland is my personal favorite! There’s just something magical about it. Here are your choices when it comes to theme parks:

Another island you can visit is Coronado Island, located in the San Diego Bay. Easier to access than the channel islands, it has a quaint, small-town feel and is more populated than the channel islands. Coronado Island is best known for the Hotel Del Coronado and its beaches consistently rank in the top 10 in the U.S.

On a southern California bucket list, it’s impossible to forget the beach! In my opinion, it’s one of the best things you can do. The coastline has tons of options to choose from, ranging from flat beaches to more rocky ones. Here’s the scoop:
